The Bhote Kosi River originates in the Tibetan plateau from where it flows down steep gorges to Nepal in the south. Naturally, the landscape it flows through is rugged, adding thrills to the trip.

It’s a tough, exhilarating ride with Class IV and Class V rapids at the higher flows and Class III in the lower levels.



Bhote Kosi River Rafting Trip Itinerary – Example

The following itinerary outlines a possible itinerary for your Bhote Kosi River Rafting Trip.

Day 1 – Drive to Lomosangu-Dam – Rafting starts

We take a trip to 95 km. east from Kathmandu is the starting point Lomosangu – Dam of the trip. This is a spectacular drive through villages and if weather permits, you will have fantastic mountain views i.e. Ganesh Himal, Langtang etc, we raft the first 10 km of the MOST exciting stretch of the Bhote Koshi River Rafting Trip and then return to the start to play again the same stretch the next day rather than continue with only half a day paddling to the end. Drives back to our camp.

Day 2 – Rafting up to Dolalghat Bazaar

After breakfast a quick pack up and set out (approx. 9 to 10 a.m.) run white water hit again a class 3 rapid starting from upper section. You have the second chance to show how your raft team can work well together in challenging rapids. We have lunch on the river beach and continue the action until the take out point Dolalghat Bazaar about 2 to 3 p.m. and bus back to Kathmandu. Our trip is over here.

  • Meals Western and continental food (1 day trip = lunch / 2 day trip = day 1: lunch & dinner / day 2: breakfast & lunch)
  • We provide fresh, delicious & hygienically prepared food including tea, coffee & Tang Juice. During your rafting trip.
  • All staffs salary, insurance, meals etc.
  • All necessary fees, Government/Local taxes and river permits.

Excluded costs

The following costs are excluded and not covered by our Bhote Kosi River Rafting Trip Package:

  • Any type of personal expenditure such Alcoholic beverages and cold drinks, Junk Food, phone, and laundry during the whole trip.
  • Items of a personal nature (toiletries, Changing clothing, camera etc)
  • Food & accommodation cost in city in case of any natural accident caused by weather.
  • Tips and Gratuities.If you feel that our crew did a great job, you are invited to offer a personal tip.
  • Rescue & insurance such as cancellation, accident, health, emergency evacuation.

  • Fleece type pullover, Flash light, Personal toiletries, Camera, Reading and Writing materials, Medication recommended by your doctor.

  • Tents, Sleeping Bags, Mattress.

We will not be responsible for the following:

  • Insurance of personal lost or damage of personal belongings.
  • We will not responsible of any delay arriving, going out without any information.
  • If any gears broken or lost because of the clients careless or neglect will be payable.
  • Any alcohol or smoking or etc will be strictly not allowed while in the boat.
  • They must have to follow the guide command while in raft and leader command while in bus or etc.
  • We will not responsible of any strike, road blockade or etc which is beyond our control.
